This morning whenspringcleaningblog I was making breakfast I looked out the window admiring the sunshine. We have had nothing but cloudy days for the past week so this is a welcome change. However, the sunshine revealed something. Something unpleasant.

Sun shining through my windows revealed streaks and smudges all over. Then I started noticing the little specks of dust floating across the room. The dried food was revealed on the table. I could see little splashes of spilled drinks on the legs of the kitchen table and chairs.

Sunshine is so nice but it reveals all the filth, too!

I have startedcWhat does a stay at home mom do all day_ (1) this post soooo many times in the past two months. I start out strong and by afternoon my day goes crazy and I think why would anyone be interested in reading about my day?

The ONE Thing That Helped My Pregnancy Heartburn

The ONE Thing That Helped My Pregnancy Heartburn

This is my fourth pregnancy. the one thing that finally helped my pregnancy heartburnEach pregnancy has been so very different for me in many ways. But the one thing that stays the same every pregnancy is my worst symptom: heartburn.

I know this is a very typical symptom, although I am sure some have escaped it. In each pregnancy different foods have made it worse. I remember I couldn’t eat popcorn (my favourite snack!) at all with my 2nd pregnancy. The heartburn was just not worth it.

Do you remember your new favouritethe movie It Takes Two? I remember watching it as a kid when Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were so popular. Sorry if I am making you feel old right now, but that movie is 23 years old.

Funny, though, that a movie that I watched 23 years ago I can still remember so distinctly the one scene where the rich girl eats her first sloppy joe. She isn’t so sure about it at first but as she starts eating she can’t get enough of it and starts shoving it all over her face as she eats it.

Ok. I know it’s notcreatingkilter.com spring yet. In the Yukon it doesn’t even remotely resemble springtime. Well, it resembles an Arctic springtime. Air is (a little bit) warmer, days are longer, and kids are happily spending hours at a time sledding.

We won’t see the grass or flowers budding for a couple more months but still, it will be spring soon.

I remember as a kid about mewriting my name as an acronym. I remember trying to think of fun ways to describe myself using only the 5 letters in my name. I loved doing that kind of stuff. I like the type of things where I reflect on my own attributes and think about features that are special about me. It’s still fun to me.

Why Do We Go Back to the Mess?

Why Do We Go Back to the Mess?

This morning is Valentine’s Day. given this August 20, 2020It’s been a sweet day so far (pun intended). My husband works night shift a couple nights a week so he came home at about 7:30 in the morning with flowers, chocolate, and a card for me and chocolates for the kids.

For the 3 year old, Pepper, he brought home a white chocolate Aero bar (a Canadian favourite). Normally I would never let the kids eat candy for breakfast, but hey, it’s Valentine’s Day and that kid is so cute it’s hard to say no 🙂

So as I was making oatmeal in the kitchen Pepper was munching away on that chocolate bar. She came into the kitchen with chocolate melted all over her face and fingers and a half eaten chocolate bar (also very melty) in her hand. For a kid who hates messes so much, she can really make a mess!

Dr. appointments, homeschooling, cWhat does a stay at home mom do all day_baking, cleaning, resting, blogging, crocheting, cooking, meal planning, babysitting, visiting….what doesn’t a stay at home mom do?

Last week I talked a little bit about how random a stay at home mom’s life can be. We can go from chef to janitor in 3 seconds. We say things that seem ridiculous and witness things that are even more ridiculous.

The more I make bullet journal pages how to take betterfamily vacationpicturesthe more I appreciate all those free fonts out there. I have been saving them for a while now on Pinterest but more just as a guide for my sketches, not to use on my computer.

Then last year I as I began making my own printables I would download some new fonts, open up Microsoft Word and be seriously disappointed when it wasn’t on the list of fonts. I was so confused. Why would people make free downloadable fonts if I couldn’t use them once they were on my computer?
