For the past couple of years on my birthday I have done what I have called “Birthday Cake Battles.” I find a bunch of recipes for seriously delicious cakes and I ask you guys to vote for your favorite. Then I bake that cake for my birthday and post my review along with some pictures to make your mouth water.
But this year July 4th really snuck up on me! So instead of doing a birthday cake battle I went ahead and made this Oreo No Bake Cake.
There are a few reasons why I made this cake.
First, it is the perfect cake to make a day (or two) before the party. Actually, it tastes even better if you make it the day before. I am saving so much time (and stress!) by making this cake the day before the party.
Second, we have some allergies in my family. Two specifically that can be tricky to work around come birthday time are eggs and gluten. A lot of times I will make one egg free cake and one gluten free cake. I do this because I am yet to master the egg free gluten free cake. Anyway, this cake is easy to make gluten free by just getting the gluten free cookies. Then it’s free of eggs anyway. There- easy gluten free, egg free cake for my whole family to enjoy!
Third, it’s no bake. Do you really want your oven at 425 for 30 minutes on July 4? No. Even in the Arctic it is hot in July. No one wants to be baking. Plus this is a nice cool treat on a hot day!
And while we are talking birthdays, I thought I’d share with you all my newest bullet journal printable: the birthday list!
I broke it into two pages so there was plenty of space for each month.
Let me know if you try that cake. I know you won’t regret it! I’d also like to hear if you like and use the bullet journal pages. I am enjoying making them and if there were a specific type of bullet journal page you are looking for I’d love to make it!
As always thanks for stopping by! I appreciate each and every one of you who take the time to visit Creating Kilter.
