Maternity Photos + the camera that took them

I really haven’tXmas Box Pin talked much about my pregnancy here. I thought I would, and there’s still time for me to do so. This pregnancy has just been such a blur and fairly manageable that it isn’t on my mind as much as previous pregnancies.

Don’t get me wrong, I am still enjoying every minute of it. I am enjoying all the little kicks and movements. And this is the first pregnancy that I am taking time to take nice bump photos.

Being a newbie photographer I am so looking forward to taking so many photos when baby is here. But for now I am attempting taking my own maternity photos. I showed you before my silhouette bump photo at 18 weeks along.  That was done using a tripod. However, the bigger I get the harder it is to take my own photograph.

I wanted some outdoor photos since we live beside a beautiful little patch of woods. I waited for a nice warm day (about -3 C) so I didn’t need to wear my coat for the picture.

Now, I know I could have brought my tripod out with me. But I wanted to see what my son could do. We found a nice spot and I took a lot of practice photos of him until I had the settings just right.

WillFace

Isn’t he a good model? This face he definitely gets from his father.

So, I handed over my camera and told him to take as many photos as he wanted. He really enjoyed it. He said he tried to take them the way he’s seen me do it before. And he did a good job!

Not bad for a 7 year old, eh?

He really did great having a steady hand and an eye for it. But I know my camera and the settings it was on helped with this photo shoot, too. I have mentioned before but I thought it worth our time to mention again what camera I use.

It’s a great beginner camera and I really can’t stress enough how much I love it. If you are looking to get into photography or even just to get some great photos at family events I highly suggest the Canon EOS Rebel T5.

This is a great, easy to understand camera that takes excellent, crisp photos.

Not only did the camera help me get these great photos but also I still use PicMonkey to edit all my photos. I pay for the Premium version and I really think it’s worth it. I love all of the extra features it offers. You don’t pay much but get a lot. You can get a PicMonkey free one month trial to see if it’s for you.

Every week I link up to these great blogs!
